Meet the Doctors
Ajay Joshi • DDS, MSD
Dr. Joshi has been a part of the Grant County community since he was born. Growing up around healthcare, he watched his father provide compassionate and exceptional medical care for many generations in our community. While attending Marion High School he was a member of the varsity tennis team and was inducted into the National Honor Society his senior year. After high school, he attended Butler University in Indianapolis and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a Spanish minor. Growing up with a sister with Down Syndrome, Dr. Joshi understood the impact that health care professionals can have on families and individuals with special needs. While attending Indiana University School of Dentistry, he participated in multiple community outreach programs. His passion for children and individuals with special needs inspired him to continue his studies at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Joshi logged countless hours at Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital and learned from some of the best pediatric healthcare professionals in the world. At NSU, he obtained his Master's Degree in Pediatric Dentistry. During his pediatric dental residency, Dr. Joshi also helped lead a mission trip to Spanishtown, Jamaica providing dental care to underprivileged children.
Dr. Joshi prides himself in being current with the latest technologies and research in the field of pediatric dentistry. He currently is adjunct faculty and an assistant clinical professor in the Pediatric Dentistry department at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Joshi has given many lectures throughout the state of Indiana to various healthcare organizations and continues to be an active member of the American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Joshi enjoys watching sports and cartoons with his 3 year old daughter and loves to tell imaginative stories to his patients. Dr. Julia Rector
Dr. Julia Rector is a graduate of Clay High School in South Bend, IN. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and graduated magna cum laude from Depauw University. At DePauw, Dr. Rector was involved in numerous activities, including service trips, leadership roles in Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and conducting research on smoking cessation. After her undergraduate education, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. During her time at IU School of Dentistry, Dr. Rector was involved in the Student Outreach Clinic, the American Dental Education Association, and served as an Admissions Ambassador and a Clinic Representative. The highlight of her time was a service trip to Guatemala, where she served the dental needs of children in rural areas.
Dr. Rector is excited to become involved in the Marion community and is grateful for the opportunity to help your child have a positive and educational experience at the dentist. Her passion for working with children and promoting oral health means every day at Hoosier Pediatric Dental Group is rewarding. In her free time, Dr. Rector enjoys the outdoors, running, reading, and playing the piano. She also likes watching Colts games and spending time with her husband and always loves a good Disney movie!
